I almost forgot to announce the July meeting. This came up quick. Didn't we have our last meeting last week? Seems like it.

Anyway, Trevor Sharpe (Heartsbane) will be presenting on basic Linux networking. He'll be covering DHCP, routing and iptables. Same bat time, same bat channel:

June 13 Meeting

So, unless I missed it, I didn't see much in the way of replies on what we wanted to have for our meeting topic. As such, I figure rather than rush to find someone to present and find a topic, well just have a modest Q&A session. If you have questions about getting something installed, getting something working, configuring a piece of software, or what have you, bring it to the meeting, and we'll try to answer it.

Same bat time, same bat channel.

Presenter: None
Topic: Q&A Session
Date: June 13, 2009

May Meeting

This Saturday is our meeting. I'm presenting on partitions, filesystems, LVM and RAID. I have a lot of content prepared, and expect the meeting to last about 2 hours. So, I'm starting right at 6pm, so I can finish by 8. The focus of my topic will by system administration, rather than for new beginners to the distribution, but it will be benificial for them as well learn how to properly work with their filesystems.

February Meeting

February's meeting is being pulled back a week to the 7th, as the 14th is Valentine's Day, and I don't think all the significant others want us to hold a computer meeting on the Day of Love. Also, the 21st is SCaLE, and many have shown an interest in attending, so the 7th it is. Details below:

Ubuntu 8.10 Release Party

As you are probably aware, Ubuntu 8.10 ships tomorrow. So, a release party is on the schedule for our regularly scheduled meeting:

Date: Nov 8th, 2008
Time: 6pm-8pm
Place: Bakery at Gourmandie's
Address: 300 East 250 South, SLC

Reliable wireless is provided, and there is plenty of seating for those who have been there. The food is great and the deserts even more so. They know we are coming, I only ask that we keep the party to a low roar, as to not disturb the rest of the patrons.
